Several people have asked about AMP-L. It is a listserv at the University of Washington for education and information/discussion. Feel free to inform patients about the listserv.
I am an R-BK from a 1969 motorcycle accident. I have lived in Nashville, TN since 1972 where I still ride my cycle almost daily. I am also a researcher and jazz musician, playing bass with several trios and quartets.
A bit of history:
AMP-L is a moderated forum for the discussion of amputee issues that has served the amputee community at part of the Amputee Information Network for years.
AMP-L was created in December 1995 by fourteen people who wanted a forum to discuss ideas relevant to amputation. Originally hosted by the University of Pittsburgh, it moved to the University of Washington in December 1998.

To SUBSCRIBE to AMP-L visit
Subscribe to Amp-L by filling out the form. You must include your FULL name. Failure to do so will result in removal. You will be sent e-mail requesting confirmation which prevents others from gratuitously subscribing you. AMP-L is a hidden list, which means that the list of members/subscribers is available only to the list administrator for the sake of privacy.
You will receive a confirmation notice which requires you to reply, insuring you are indeed subscribing from the address sent.
Only subscribers are permitted to post messages to AMP-L and may post ONLY from the subscribed address.
To send a message to the list address it to:
amp-l@u.washington.edu
and your message will be automatically relayed to everyone on the list (including yourself if you wish). The time frame will vary, depending on the size of the list and how busy the internet is at the time of posting. Any message posted to the list from another subscriber will likewise be mailed to you.
>From this page you may also configure your subscription options such as Digest (daily) mode, archive retrieval, or receive unsubscribing information.
Please direct any and all queries regarding the list only to the moderator. Sending requests or problems with the list to the subscribers does nothing except clutter hundreds of mailboxes with something about which they can do nothing.
